Autumn Reading and Conversations

How does an author tell an “untellable” story? How do accounts capture our harsh world of increasing controversy? How do we respond when societal values clash with religious teachings? Why has art become contentious?

How do YOU respond when you read? If you would like to join a conversation group responding to short, challenging realistic works, please express your interest to the church office, 908-369-8451 or email chrc1834@gmail.com

Selections include four readings, one for each week’s conversations.

Readings:

●      Night by Elie Wiesel (book)

●      Book of Job

Week three and four selections will be copied and provided.

Our plan is to meet once a week for four consecutive weeks the last two weeks of September and the first two of October.

Details will follow if there is a quick response. The time of Sunday after worship is proposed.

Participants need to obtain a copy of Night (attached is clip art of the book cover) for the first session. Bibles can be borrowed from CHRC for reading The Book of Job.

Selections should be read for participation.
