Holy Headscratchers with Pastor Heather

  • Google Calendar ICS

Let’s be real. There are parts of the Bible that are incredibly confusing or just wacky. What is the Year of Jubilee? Why are there two creation stories in Genesis? Is there really a talking donkey in the Bible?  And these are just a few.

I, Pastor Heather, don’t pretend to have all the definitive answers, but the weird, hard-to-get parts of the Bible are worth discussing. This summer and into fall, from June to September, one Sunday a month, let’s meet after worship and talk about these Holy Headscratchers.

Dates: September 13th and October 25th

I need your help!  What are particular issues in the Bible – could be a specific scripture, a concept, a story, a character – that you scratch your head over?  Please let me know.

Winter Book Conversation in February - Session 2

If you would like to join a conversation group responding to a challenging work, Under the Feet of Jesus, please express your interest to the church office, 908-369-8451, email chrc1834@gmail.com, or speak to Gary Keck, group facilitator, ASAP.

The plan is to read one book and then meet on 2/1 and 2/15, Sundays after worship and fellowship. One session will focus on the reading and the second session on the connections to our lives as Christians.

This novel portrays people living life by the bare essentials from an adult perspective with realistic language and detail. This is a social novel not a religious study

(Think The Grapes of Wrath).

Books are available in the church office as of January 11.
