Dear Friends,
June is always a season of variety, in our lives and our Church.
- On June 5, in our worship we will recognize, remember and give thanks for the special gifts that have been given throughout the year. These gifts, through the years, have allowed us to do far more in Music, Building Projects, Mission and Education than our normal current expense budget could provide. Gifts to these funds in memory of loved ones serve as the Protestant equivalent to the Roman Catholic mass cards, while gifts in honor of special life events are ways to celebrate births, birthdays, anniversaries and other milestone moments.
- Plans are underway for VBS ’11 as we go cruising with God on the S. S. Clover Hill from July 11-15! If you haven’t signed up to help yet, or registered your children, or extended an invitation to your neighbors and friends please do!
- High School Graduations are happening and we have teens graduating and preparing to head off to college. Please be sure to let us know where you are going, and what your address (mail and email) will be, so that we can stay in touch, while you are busy being the Clover Hill Church, in new places and among new people!
- As you travel during the summer months, please remember that the needs of the Church go on! Each summer, in addition to your regular giving, we ask that you consider giving “A Summer Day Gift” and these gifts have, in recent years, allowed us to avoid what used to be an annual cash flow crunch later in the summer. Each day of 2011 costs us $239.79 for the basic administrative operations and, if you are able, your gift will be invaluable to the work of Christ’s Church in Clover Hill!
- And finally, we have an orphaned computer looking for a home! We have updated our Church Office computer and software, making our old computer obsolete for our use. Once we have wiped the memory clean, it will be available on a “first come, first serve” basis. It is a Mac (iMac OS 9.2), it is slow, has limited memory and is big, old and clumsy! (OK, stop thinking that we are describing the minister here!) If that computer description, somehow, sounds attractive to you please call the Church Office, ASAP!
Peace,
Jack
